Never Stop Exploring!

My journey has taken me from the tropical beaches of Brazil to the towering fjords of New Zealand, and from the floating markets of Thailand to the sand dunes of the Gobi desert, from the deep blue of the Pacific to the jagged peaks of the Himalayas and the Ethiopian Highlands by buses, trains, boats, rafts, tuk-tuks, camels and aeroplanes.

We live on a fascinating planet full of amazing people and cultures who have adapted to their diverse environments in the most extraordinary ways. And yet I always find that people are essentially the same as my neighbours in London, full of the same day to day worries and excitements.

A Photographic journey to a World without Machines - An Online Presentation

During my travels, in some parts of the world, all the modern conveniences that we take for granted, like running water, mains electric lights, a hi-speed Wifi connection and modern Machinery became luxury items that loomed far behind. This is a story about real people and their daily lives of how they make their living, produce their food, their social lives, how they entertain themselves, how they make their merchandise, transport and trade using manual techniques without any machines. It is about people's hardships and struggle to make a living using manual techniques. It is also a story about how people live in harmony with nature, sustainably utilising their environment without the use of machines or vehicles, and may offer us some ideas for a harmonious living in the modern age.

Japan - First Impressions (A video summary)

For anyone looking to travel to Japan to the delayed Tokyo Olympics 2020, I highly recommend you watch this video summary of my 'first impressions'. Japan is full of cultural wonders for those travellers who enjoy authentic cultural experiences. I spent 6 months in Japan travelling, teaching English, learning Japanese and taking lots of pictures. The Desert (A video summary)

This is a collection of photographs I took from three deserts: The Great Gobi (Northwest China), The Arabian Desert (UAE) and the Great Rift valley (Ethiopia). This collection aims to give an immersive insight into my travels through deserts. The first thing that impressed me after the searing heat was how silent and quiet life is - gives one plenty of time for self-contemplation! The most impressive visible aspect was the colours which have the most calming and mesmerising effect. Everyone hates Roadblocks! For most people the Roadblock on the way to work or going back home can be very frustrating. Being stuck in a Roadblock for hours is not the most interesting part of the day. But like death and taxes, a Roadblock is a fact of life. No matter where I went in the world, there it was! Christmas in Tokyo-Japan and Lalibela-Ethiopia

A Photo Exhibition, Addis Ababa Museum, Meskel Square, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia (January 18 - March 01, 2020). This photo exhibition was about how Christmas is celebrated in Tokyo-Japan and Lalibela-Ethiopia; two cities on the opposite sides of the world that are a ‘world apart’ in terms of how they celebrate Christmas, their culture and economic levels. The 50 photographs on display gave an insight into my experience as a Travel Photographer spending Christmas in these two cities in two different years during the course of my travels. 

Meskel (Festival of the Holy Cross)

A photo exhibition at Union, Meskel Square, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia: 27 September - 03 October 2019. This is a collection of photographs I have taken in Ethiopia of Meskel Festival Celebrations (Festival of the Holy Cross) from around the country. I was born in Ethiopia and lived in the UK most of my life. While this long journey has been mostly a journey of new discoveries, it has also been a chance to travel back to my roots and understand the vibrance and colourful depth of Ethiopian culture through such amazing experiences.
